Don't get me wrong, I really like VLC, but if I had the option, I'd rather use the software that's already preinstalled. I can't imagine I'm the only one who would like to be able to just hit the space bar to play pretty much anything directly within Quicklook, or use QuickTime instead of other third party software. And if not, maybe someone with a better understanding of the technical hurdles and obstacles could help me understand why (at least to my knowledge) no similar projects have seen the light of day.
